18 September: Tertulia: Start the season with a get-together.  Please bring a snack/tapa to share.

 

16 October: Cambios gramaticales del español por influencia del inglés (I), Dr Laura Domínguez: How Spanish is affected when native speakers of Spanish become bilingual in English and Spanish.                                                                               

 

20 November: Yo con mi cámara por Sud América (I), Zoe Hemsley: Travels around Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.

                               

Saturday 6 December  Fiesta de Navidad (at Chilworth Hall, Chilworth, Southampton):  Bring along food and drink to share.  The Christmas Party is an opportunity to chat in English or Spanish, eat, sing and dance.

 

January  Cena: Join the committee for dinner at a local Spanish restaurant (venue TBA).

 

19 February  !Alegría! Los vinos de España (E/I),  Rafael Pascual: The chairman gives his view on distinctive Spanish wines worth exploring.

 

19 March: Más fotos de Madrid y los alrededores - Grabados particulares (I/E), Mike English: Snapshots around Madrid - A personal view

 

16 April: Su película favorita (E/I), Come and vote for your choice of film on the night.

 

21 May: Tus imágenes del mundo hispánico (I/E): Show off your favourite snapshots of the Hispanic world.

 

18 June ¡Viva las tapas!  Plus AGM: Tapas evening.  Please bring a tapa and the recipe to share.

                               

 

TIME: 8 - 10pm (Talks start at 8:30pm and last for approximately one hour.)

 

FEES:  Members £14.00  (Concessions £8.00)         Joint membership £20.00

Visitors £4.00        (Concessions £2.00)

 

Visitors who later join the society will have their visitor’s fee deducted from the cost of their membership.

Parking is available in University car parks, of which the Physics Department car park is one of the closest to 43 University Road.

For safety reasons, all attendees are required to tick the society register on arrival at every meeting. Committee members will welcome and take the details of newcomers.
